Cultural Hints
Las Vegas is a city that barely needs an introduction. From its top-of-the-line resorts, shopping and dining to its exciting entertainment and nightlife, Las Vegas has earned its place as one of the world’s premier tourist destinations. Nevada’s largest city has long outgrown its adult playground moniker and is no longer just a gambling Mecca. The mega-resorts that line The Strip offer visitors more than meets the eye…and behind the flashing neon and dazzling lights, each of them is a destination unto itself. But don’t forget that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Tipping
Tipping should be based on type of service. Typically as follows: Hotel Bellmen: $1.00 to $2.00 per bag, taxi drivers: minimum $2.00 for short rides, help with baggage more, restaurants: 15% to 20% of check.

Currency
U.S. dollars. Check current exchange rate at time of travel. Some hotels and airport offers currency exchanges.

Getting Around
Las Vegas has taxis, shuttle buses, trams and trolleys. No trouble getting around Las Vegas to see the sights. Most hotels have shuttles to the convention center.

Military Museums
Atomic Testing Museum and Nellis Air Force Base Training facility (must be on active duty with Air Force).

Tourism
Las Vegas is the tourism capital of the United States. There are attractions for every age….from child-friendly rides and roller coasters at New York, New York and Circus Circus to gambling, fine dining, nightclubs, concerts and adult reviews at nearly every casino resort in town.
