Extreme Duty Window Magazine

Mission First Tactical, LLC (MFT™) is proud to introduce the latest addition to the MFT magazine line, the Extreme Duty Window Magazine, designed for the AR-15/M4 but allowing use with a wide range of non-AR-15/M4 platforms. Utilizing new material technology and manufacturing processes for enhanced strength, durability and reliability, the Extreme Duty Window Magazine has durable dual-side, anti-glare transparent windows, numerical markers and high-visibility indicator coil on the spring allowing for quick visual identification of the approximate number of rounds remaining. Additionally, the Extreme Duty Window Magazines offer increased durability through a more efficient energy transfer between the polymer and the longer fiber filaments during an impact. The long-life USGI-Spec stainless steel spring is corrosion-resistant. The four-way, anti-tilt, self-lubricating follower keeps the rounds aligned and makes mag feeding consistent and reliable, while virtually eliminating jams. An oversized bolt-catch provides enhanced reliability of the bolt catch operation. The flared floor plate allows for an easier grip in handling, extraction, and one-hand reloads.

6.5 x 52mm Carcano

The 6.5x52mm Carcano cartridge has been around since 1891 and was only phased out of military service in the 1970s. Carcano rifles were strong actions, and most used gain-twist rifling to extend barrel life and improve accuracy. Heavy for the caliber projectiles, it retained useful energy levels despite the round nose form. The original lead core bullets had poor terminal performance, so later designs filled the bullet nose with less dense aluminum to promote tumbling on impact. Fortunately, an excellent target load is now available from Steinel Ammunition. The new cartridges use soft point expanding bullets that provide excellent terminal effect and accuracy while promoting reliable feeding. Loaded to 1,770 fps (from 17.5-inch barrels), this load offers a significantly lighter recoil than the original, while retaining good terminal performance at distances reasonable with iron sights. This ammunition is non-corrosive and made to much higher quality and more consistent specifications than either military surplus or other commercial loadings.

It is constructed of aluminum, has extreme temperature resistance, and is sturdy, long-lasting and lightweight with a high quality finish. Patent pending.

SIG Sauer Unveils the SIG MCX

SIG Sauer SIG MCX

SIG Sauer, Inc. continues to set new standards in firearm design, innovation, and performance with the introduction of the SIG MCX. Designed from the ground up as a short-barreled, silenced, lightweight rifle-caliber system, the SIG MCX has reset the standard for modularity, sound suppression, and mission capability. With the introduction of the SIG MPX submachine gun, SIG Sauer raised the bar for performance and modularity in a pistol-caliber platform. The SIG MCX combines that modularity with rifle-caliber power in a compact package, designed for optimum performance with a silencer. Unlike every other firearm on the market, the SIG MCX was designed from the start for optimum performance with the .300 Blackout cartridge and a silencer. When paired with a SIG Sauer silencer, the outcome is a firearm with superior suppression capability and enhanced reliability with both supersonic and subsonic loads. An auto-regulating gas system makes the transition from subsonic to supersonic seamless. In combat situations, the SIG MCX can run supersonic on the silenced setting without damaging the firearm or negatively impacting reliability. Sharing a modular design with the SIG MPX, the SIG MCX is a mission-adaptable firearm. Changing between .300 Blackout and 5.56 NATO is as simple as swapping barrels and op rods. Converting to 7.62x39mm simply requires an additional bolt face change. All of this can be performed by the user in the field. Barrel lengths can also be changed, with 16-inch and 9-inch versions initially available. The SIG MCX features a recoil assembly that does not require a buffer tube, allowing for side folding stocks. A full-length Picatinny top rail allows for the mounting of lights or optics. Removable SIG Sauer iron sights come standard. The SIG MCX upper is compatible with Mil-Spec AR-15 lowers and, with the use of a SIG MCX Stock Kit, allow consumers to fully upgrade their own system. Three variants of the SIG MCX will be available to the commercial market; semiautomatic rifle, short-barrel rifle (SBR) and pistol configurations. All will be available in .300 Blackout, 5.56 NATO or 7.62x39mm, with caliber conversions available immediately. All SIG MCX models will feature aluminum KeyMod handguards, ambidextrous AR-style controls, an ambidextrous charging handle, and will utilize standard STANAG magazines. SureFire Releases Its Most Powerful LED Flashlight Ever

SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products, has commenced sales of its most powerful LED flashlight in the company’s 35-year history. The new UDR Dominator boasts a maximum output of an incredible 2,400 lumens, a level previously not attainable via light emitting diode (LED) technology. This represents a significant milestone for SureFire and is only the beginning of things to come as LED technology continues to evolve and improve. With its ultra-high maximum output and a deep precision reflector to shape the light into a far-reaching beam, the Dominator qualifies as a tactical flashlight, given its obvious military, law enforcement, and border security applications. But it’s also well-suited for maritime use, search and rescue operations, or any other application where an ultra-bright, portable searchlight would prove useful. Along with its 2,400-lumen max setting, the variable-output Dominator also produces eight other useful output levels and even has a strobe-light setting, designed to disorient an aggressor, and a disable feature to prevent accidental activation. The Dominator is one of several “dual-fuel-capable” flashlights produced by SureFire, which means it can be powered by an included lithium-ion rechargeable battery or by twelve disposable 123A batteries, for situations where recharging the light between uses may not be an option. A built-in, color-coded LED fuel gauge keeps users abreast of remaining battery power, and the light can be charged via an AC wall socket or a DC vehicle socket. Built to be as rugged as it is powerful – for the obvious outdoor uses for which it is intended – the UDR is constructed of lightweight but strong aerospace aluminum, is hard anodized with a durable Mil-Spec finish, and has O-ring and gasket seals to protect sophisticated internal electronics from moisture and debris.

New Tripod Shooting System from Ashbury Precision Ordnance

Ashbury Precision Ordnance (APO) Manufacturing introduces the new RSTA-II Tripod Shooting System for RifleSports focusing on long range hunting, practical/tactical rifle competition, and professional marksmen. The RSTA-II Tripod Shooting System allows long gun users to shoot from a variety of alternate shooting positions while standing, kneeling or sitting whether on flat ground, rock strewn, steep mountainous or complex urban terrain. The 1.1 pound RSTA-II Tripod Head allows users to position long guns using the Rapid Control Handle (RCH), which can be set up for either right or left hand control. This versatile tripod head provides a positive locking ±35 degree head that can securely hold a 25+ lb. long gun using a 6 o’clock accessory rail grabber, Pig Saddle or APO AnyPoint Bipod/Tripod Mount. RSTA-II Tripod Shooting Systems offer users a maximum shooting height of approximately 68 inches and collapses to approximately 29 inches using Quick Power Lock leg latches. The standard duty RSTA-II Tripod Shooting System uses the stable, yet lightweight Manfrotto 190XPROB alloy tripod base that is suggested for long guns up to 15lbs. This tripod base uses 3-section legs that collapse into a highly portable field shooting platform at only 5.5 lbs. The extreme duty version of the RSTA-II uses the Manfrotto 055XPROB a heavy duty tripod base with larger diameter 3-section tripod legs weighing 6.6 lbs. that flexes less under heavier loads of up to 20 or more pounds. The RSTA-II allows shooters to track, lock and when ready accurately engage distant targets without fatigue. In rugged field testing for more than 18 months RSTA-II Tripod Shooting Systems were live fire tested with a wide range of rifles including the M107 .50 BMG. Long-gun shooters can interchangeably mount semiautomatic carbines, shotguns, and a wide range of hunting and tactical rifles on RSTA-II Shooting Tripod platforms. Variable power spotting scopes are also easily mounted on the RSTA-II platform using the common 1/4×20 detachable baseplate, or clamped snugly inside the Pig Saddle. One tripod system with many uses. For more information go to www.ashburyprecisionordnance.com.

CMMG’s Mk47 Mutant Marks the Birth of a New Black Rifle

CMMG, Inc. has announced the release of the Mk47 MUTANT – an all-new rifle platform that combines the accuracy of the modern sporting rifle and relentless AK47-like reliability with the legendary 7.62x39mm caliber. Engineered from 7075-T6 billet aluminum, the Mk47 MUTANT features a uniquely designed upper and lower receiver built to manage the dimensions and pressures of the 7.62x39mm tapered cartridge all while keeping the weight of the rifle at a minimum. Remarkably, the Mk47 MUTANT (while unloaded) weighs just over seven pounds. The lower receiver is designed to accept existing AK magazines, which are widely available, inexpensive and extremely reliable. A standard ambidextrous hook and latch system makes reloading fast and intuitive. The rifle comes with one Magpul PMag 30-round AK/AKM MOE 7.62×39 magazine. A full-length Picatinny rail runs atop the Mk47 making it easy to mount your preferred sights or optics. CMMG’s RKM KeyMod Hand Guard is exceptionally light and ergonomic. It also gives users the freedom to mount a wide array of accessories using the KeyMod slots found in the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions. For accessories that are not yet KeyMod compatible, CMMG offers 5-slot accessory rails. The Mk47 sports a 16.1 inch free floated barrel with a 1:10 twist and runs on the proven carbine-length direct impingement gas system. By effectively maximizing the accuracy and harnessing the knockdown power of the 7.62x39mm, the Mk47 is an ideal rifle for a variety of sporting and defense applications. Recover Tactical Offers Rail Grip for Beretta 92/96

Recover Tactical is proud to announce the release of the new Recover BC2 grip and rail system for the Beretta 92/96 series of pistols. The Beretta grip and rail system follows on the success of Recover’s CC3 grip and rail for 1911s. The patented design of the BC2 adds a fully functional Picatinny rail to the Beretta and can be easily installed in about three minutes without a gunsmith.

Just like Recover’s popular 1911 grips, the new Beretta BC2 grip and rail system was design by world renowned Israeli weapons designer Tamir Porat (Porat also designed the IWI Tavor assault rifle). The BC2 grip is manufactured in Israel from the same high-grade, glass-reinforced polymer used by many polymer gun manufacturers. The Recover BC2 will not scratch or damage your gun. Weighing in at only about 65 grams it will not significantly change the weight of your gun or the thickness of the grip. The Recover Beretta grip and rail system is currently available in black, desert sand, OD green and digital camo and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Retailing for only $49.99, the BC2 is the easiest and most affordable way to add a full Picatinny rail to a Beretta.
Snapshot Gives Crime Solvers A New Way to Use DNA

Snapshot Gives Crime Solvers A New Way to Use DNA

Parabon NanoLabs, Inc., a DNA technology company that develops next-generation forensic and therapeutic products, is proud to announce the Snapshot DNA Phenotyping Service. This is an investigative forensics service that produces a descriptive profile from any human DNA sample. Snapshot predicts physical characteristics including skin pigmentation, eye and hair color, face morphology, sex, and genomic ancestry, and can identify distant familial relationships between samples. Now available, after three years of development with funding from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Snapshot provides a first-of-its-kind capability for determining the physical appearance and other characteristics of an individual from a DNA sample, whether it is from an active crime scene or skeletal remains. These results provide investigators with information that can help determine the identity of suspects and victims. In addition to identifying the traits an individual is likely to have, Snapshot also produces high-confidence trait exclusions – for example, it might report with >99% confidence that a particular individual does not have brown or black eyes. Knowledge of what traits can be excluded from consideration allows investigators to greatly narrow their investigation and direct their resources more effectively. It takes advantage of modern SNP technology, along with so-called ‘big data’ high-performance computing (HPC) techniques, to translate genetic markers into a number of different phenotype predictions. It can also be used to identify distant familial relationships between two DNA samples, such as second or third cousins, which is significantly more powerful than traditional STR-based analysis. For investigators, when CODIS (Combined DNA Index System) fails to find a DNA match, their cases often go cold; a Snapshot forensic profile, however, can generate new leads and help resolve those cases. Snapshot requires <1 nanogram (ng) of extracted DNA, and good results have been obtained with just 50 picograms (pg) of DNA. (A nanogram is a unit of mass equal to one billionth of a gram and there are 1,000 picograms within one nanogram.) Parabon scientists have built predictive models for each trait using data collected from thousands of known subjects across multiple data sources. Snapshot analysts then run the genotype data collected from each unknown DNA sample through these predictive models to produce a final phenotype prediction report. Snapshot reports are generally produced within 30 days from receipt of a DNA sample and rush orders can be filled in less than two weeks. More information can be found at http://www.parabon-nanolabs.com/snapshot or by calling (703) 689-9689 x251.

Tac-Con Introduces Two New Trigger Systems

Tac-Con Introduces Two New Trigger Systems

In 2013, Tactical Fire Control, Inc. rocked the AR-15 world with the introduction of the Tac-Con 3MR Trigger System, providing military, law enforcement and civilian shooters with performance features never before attainable from a non-NFA trigger system. Now, the innovators at Tac-Con are set to change the industry once again with the introduction of the Tac-Con 241 for the AR-15 and the Tac-Con Raptor, designed specifically for the AK-47.

AK fans have spoken, and Tac-Con has listened. With an unprecedented number of requests to manufacture a high-quality drop-in trigger for the ubiquitous workhorse AK platform, Tac-Con is again setting new standards in the industry. The Tac-Con Raptor Trigger System is a fire control system consisting of “Safe” and Tac-Con’s proprietary semi-auto, assisted-reset, fire position. This position provides a positive reset that dramatically reduces the split times between shots. The positive reset characteristic is achieved by transferring the force from the bolt carrier through the trigger assembly, instantaneously assisting the trigger back onto the sear. As a result, this gives the firearm the fastest reset possible for an AK-47. The Raptor features a non-adjustable 4.5-pound trigger pull weight with zero take-up and no overtravel. The pioneers at Tac-Con have quite possibly developed the most innovative AR-15 trigger system on the market. Utilizing its proven 3-mode design, Tac-Con has combined its blazing-fast 3MR assisted-reset technology with a precision two-stage trigger, providing you the ultimate all in one, simple, drop-in replacement system. Now shooters can quickly transition from rapid fire to ultra-precise long range shot placement with the simple switch of the 3-mode selector. The 241 trigger system utilizes the standard “Fire” position for its 4.5 lb. assisted-reset mode, while the 180 degree, “full auto” position activates the two-stage mode. The two-stage mode features a controllable 3.5 lb. take up with a clean, crisp 1 lb. break for the ultimate in precision shot placement.
Bullseye Camera System Announce Remote Targeting Viewing
The Bullseye Camera System is a unique patent-pending system that allows a shooter to view his downrange target right from the shooting location on his smartphone, tablet of laptop. The system features a special camera that sets up, down by the target and wirelessly transmits video back to the shooters position, via a wireless device, from locations up to 1 mile away. The shooter can instantly see each shot flashing on the screen no matter how many times the target has been shot. The system is completely wireless and does not require internet service or a cellular signal. The system works with rifle, pistol, archery, small bore, large bore and even patterning shotguns. Another great feature is that no special targets are required. You can use paper, cardboard, 3-D foam and even steel. The system includes a special weather-proof camera with night vision, a tripod, router, antenna, signal booster, 5-hour rechargeable Lithium-ion battery with charger and all required connector wire complete in a fitted secure carrying case. The unit also comes with a thumbdrive with Bullseye Target Manager software. The software is available for Android, iOS and Windows operating systems. The user also gets free software updates so as new features are made available you can simply download them. The camera also features a Laser Target Identifier to align the camera on the target when setting up the unit. The camera system comes in two models; the Standard Edition, which is good up to 500 yards and the Long Range Edition which has a range of 1 mile. Each model can also be ordered in an Elite Edition that adds a laptop. The two base models retail for just $449 and $549 complete.
Ohio Ordnance Works HCAR
Ohio Ordnance Works, Inc. is proud to introduce the H.C.A.R. (Heavy Counter Assault Rifle), a rifle built on a similar cast receiver to the original Ohio Ordnance semiautomatic BAR but with significant improvements. The H.C.A.R. is 7 pounds lighter for faster, easier handling and more comfortable carrying and shooting. It fires the original .30-06 round and uses the same patented action as the original OOW semi-auto BAR (the 1918A3) and fires from the closed bolt. It also features a Picatinny rail to facilitate both a mounted optic and a back-up sight. The barrel has been dimpled using a patented design to reduce weight while maintaining rigidity and strength and to speed barrel cooling. The barrel is also threaded with the industry standard 5/8-24 thread that allows users to choose the flash suppressor, muzzle brake or sound suppressor their choice.

The H.C.A.R. comes with a newly designed handguard with four integrated Picatinny rails. These rails allow another optic device set-up (thermal with the main optic, etc.), as well as the attachment of the shooter’s choice of bipods, sling swivels, lights, etc. The trigger housing has been redesigned with an easier-to-engage safety with a shorter throw (45 degrees). There are new, quick-release push-pull pins that allow for a much simpler disassembly. It also has a new 6-pound trigger that is short and crisp, so the pull feels like a match trigger and the reset is just as short. The shooter can squeeze off controlled, accurate shots one after another. The ergonomic pistol grip allows for a more natural wrist alignment for shooting comfort and the easy-to-reach, intuitive magazine release paddle is quickly engaged so the time between mag changes is fast.

The H.C.A.R. has a bolt hold-open mechanism that locks the bolt to the rear when the mag is empty or whenever the bolt is manually pulled back without a magazine in the rifle. This allows single feeding, simple “one look” check for clear chamber, and easy field cleaning. The buffer system has been upgraded to a hydraulic buffer from the original cone buffering system, which slices the felt recoil of the rifle by at least half. The result is that the sight picture is easily maintained during firing with little to no effort. The internal threads of the buffer housing allow attachment of either Mil-Spec or aftermarket AR-15/M4 buttstock/buffer tubes, letting the shooter easily choose his or her own AR-15/M4 buttstock.
SIG Sauer SIG556xi
SIG Sauer has just introduced their new SIG556xi, rewriting the standard for modularity, reliability, and performance for the modern rifle platform. Based on the legendary SG550, the SIG556xi will change the way military, law enforcement, and responsible citizens look at adaptable rifles. Utilizing the time-tested rotating bolt and adjustable gas piston operating system, the SIG556xi allows operators a choice of caliber, barrel length, handguard/stock configurations and lower receivers. A removable barrel allows the operator to select the necessary length for a given mission. Adding the appropriate bolt, the SIG556xi can be changed to any of three calibers, 5.56x45mm NATO, 300 Blackout, and 7.62x39mm NATO. Users can also quickly change out the non-serialized lower receiver, allowing the use of either AR-style STANAG magazines or rock-and-lock AK-style magazines. The SIG556xi upper receiver is the serialized part, making the lower an easy to purchase part. Polymer handguards accept all Magpul light and rail kits, while the aluminum and carbon fiber handguards accept 2-, 4-, and 6-inch M1913 rails. Barrels are available in 10-, 14.5-, and 16-inches. Truly ambidextrous, the SIG556xi features an ambidextrous safety selector, magazine release and user swappable charging handle (right- or left-handed). Optional receiver end plates allow for the use of either AR receiver extension tubes and buttstocks or M1913 compatible stocks. Thanks to a redesigned trigger package, the military and law enforcement versions of the SIG556xi are capable of full-auto fire in every caliber, including 7.62x39mm. The Russian lower has been thoroughly function tested with many available AK magazines, including US P.A.L.M. www.sigsauer.com.

Trijicon VCOG 1-6X24MM
The new Trijicon VCOG (Variable Combat Optical Gunsight) 1-6x24mm meets the rigorous demands of duty or competition while giving shooters the flexibility to engage CQB targets & out to the maximum effective range of most service rifles. Designed and built in the USA, the Trijicon VCOG is machined from a 7075-T6 aluminum forging and given a Mil Spec, hard-coat anodized finish. There is a full 90 MOA of windage and elevation adjustment available in 1/2-inch click increments at 100 m to get almost any weapon system on target. Lenses are all fully multicoated with a broadband anti-reflective coating that maximizes light transmission while meeting and beating the military’s requirements for abrasion resistance. The scope maintains a constant four inches of eye relief throughout its magnification range and an oversized and knurled adjustment knob makes finding the perfect power setting easy and fast, even with gloved hands. The VCOG is waterproof to 66 feet and its illumination electronics are Mil-Spec tough. Initially, the VCOG will be offered with seven different reticle choices, all of which are located in the first focal plane allowing the ballistic reticle to be used at any magnification. The segmented circle reticle with a centered crosshair can be matched with 175-grain 7.62, 55- and 77-grain 5.56, or 115-grain supersonic 300 BLK loads. The popular horseshoe/dot reticle is available in each of the 5.56 and 7.62 offerings. The red illuminated reticle is powered by a common AA battery, accessible underneath the objective or, with a lithium battery, it can deliver 700 continuous hours of run time at setting 4 of 6. A rheostat is located on the main tube, opposite the windage turret, and has an off position between each of its six brightness settings. An integral mount securely pairs the optic with any M1913 Picatinny rail and its height is perfect for flattop M16, M4, AR-15 and SR-25/AR-10-style rifles. At just 10”, the VCOG leaves plenty of rail space ahead of the objective for night vision or thermal intensifiers. www.trijicon.com.

TAR Ideal Concepts TL5PRO
The TL5PRO was developed by TAR Ideal Concepts in collaboration with the Special Forces and an array of military experts, designed to fulfil specific requirements and challenges met on the battlefield in the promise of enhancing combat effectiveness and reducing fratricide.

Due to increased IR signatures in combat, effective IFF is limited. I.e., Reflective tape, which lacks a distinct signal gets lost in the background and soldiers are susceptible to friendly fire. In addition, today’s enemy has access to night vision and uses it to identify IR signatures as a common tactic for attacking soldiers. Further challenges include the weight, cost and size of effective IFF technology.

The TL5PRO signals the soldier by Infra-Red or Visual Illumination for IFF. Unlike other markers, the TL5PRO does not require the use of night vision as a means to maintain invisibility from the enemy. The marker is equipped with two main modes; IR and Visible (the Visible mode includes 3 illuminating color options), both of which have adjustable intensity levels. The Low Intensity Level allows the operator to be completely undetectable from a distance of above 50 meters; it is also untraceable and may be used when communications are unavailable or when operating under radio silence, maximizing the covertness of soldiers on the ground.

The TL5PRO is lightweight (only 90 gr), rugged, flexible, splash resistant and durable. Charged by one AA or CR123 battery, the Marker can last up to 72 hours in various modes.

Designed to detect and identify friendly forces in enemy territory. The TL5PRO is combat proven and can be used for multiple applications to include Landing Strip; K9 Tracking; Ground Forces and Special Operations; Police and SAR. www.tarideal.com

Energizer
Two Energizer flashlights have been selected by the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office – Soldier (PEO-Soldier) for inclusion in the Approved Family of Flashlight list (AFFL).

The Energizer Hard Case Tactical Swivel light is one of the approved lights in the “Tactical Handheld Light” category and the Energizer 1AA Ultimate Lithium is one of the lights in the “Basic White Light” category. In order to qualify, lights on the list had to meet several levels of physical, environmental and Soldier compatibility testing.

The Energizer Hard Case Tactical Swivel light was developed after extensive research and was designed to specifically meet the needs of military personnel. Powered by Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries, the light will provide more than seven hours of light and perform better in extreme temperatures than lights operated with standard alkaline batteries. Features include imperative capabilities such as multiple color LEDs, Red, Green, Blue and White, for light discipline needs, Infrared (IR) for Night Vision Device usage and IR strobe for Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) use. It incorporates a rotating swivel head which allows for hands-free signaling and standard flashlight use, along with multiple switches. The flashlight provides a tight, high-intensity, 70-lumens beam on white mode for long-distance illumination and is also capable of temporarily disrupting the vision of an enemy combatant. Other features include DualDrive Technology that allows operation on two AA batteries or a single AA battery if needed, a heavy-duty clip that can be attached to a tactical vest or other gear systems, can withstand a 15-foot drop and is waterproof.

The Energizer 1AA Ultimate Lithium features bright white, high performance LEDs. Advanced circuitry built into the light allows users to adjust the light output and manage battery life to meet their needs. An extremely rugged design features a waterproof, machined, aircraft-grade aluminum alloy body, shatterproof lens, and nearly indestructible LED.

Long known for their batteries, Energizer released their Night Strike and Night Strike Swivel handheld flashlights.

The Night Strike utilizes multiple LEDs and is capable of 130 lumen output in either red or white light, with multiple power settings. When utilizing three Energizer lithium batteries, the run time is a reported 6 hours.

The Night Strike Swivel provides even more features than the Nigh Strike unit by offering 4 color LED (white, green, red, and blue) as well as UV illumination, in 13 different lighting modes. Each colored LED may be turned on individually or in any combination with any other LED, depending upon the situation.

Utilizing two AA-sized lithium batteries, the unit runs for a reported 5 hours. More impressively, the unit can run on either one or two AA-sized batteries without malfunction. www.energizer.com.

Smith and Wesson
Building upon the success of the M&P15-22 rifle, Smith and Wesson has introduced three new models. All four variants offer a two position safety selector identical to the AR-15/M16 series, a fully functioning charging handle, fully functioning bolt catch that holds the bolt open on an empty magazine, a match grade precision barrel, and a polymer M1913 Picatinny rail hand guard.

The new variants include a pinned stock and 10-round magazine variant for sale in restrictive States, as well as a rifle variant equipped with a 1/2×28 threaded barrel. Given that 1.2×28 is the standard thread pitch on all AR-15 and M16 rifles, any muzzle device (to include properly threaded sound suppressors) should fit on the M&P15-22 rifle.

Smith and Wesson also introduced two new pistols for the Bodyguard series. The first, a .38 caliber revolver features a hammerless design, a short 1.9-inch barrel, and an overall length of 6.6 inches. The revolver has a capacity of five rounds, weighs 14.3 ounces and is built from a one-piece aluminum alloy upper frame along with a steel reinforced polymer lower frame. Finally, the revolver features an easily manipulated ambidextrous cylinder release on the top of the frame.

The semiautomatic pistol is chambered in .380 ACP, features a six-round magazine, a high-strength polymer frame, a black stainless steel slide, and a 2.75 inch barrel. Overall length is 5.25 inches, with an unloaded weight of 11.85 ounces.

Both Bodyguard pistols feature an integrated laser manufactured by InSight. www.smith-wesson.com.

Otis Technology
Otis has long been known for its convenient cleaning kits in a variety of calibers. New for 2010, Otis has released the TRS, an AR-15/M16 carbine length, free floating Picatinny quad rail. The unit is reportedly manufactured via a patented manufacturing method on all critical geometries, allowing for repeatability when frequently mounting and removing weapon sights and accessories. www.otisgun.com.

Purosol

The Global War on Terror often takes place in dusty and harsh environments. Optic and computer systems are constantly being cleaned and dusted. Purosol has released a solvent-free, organic cleaning fluid for all optics. The solution reportedly contains no ammonia, alcohol, detergent, silicone, graphite, or silicone. In addition, a second formula is available for cleaning LCD, plasma, and other electronic displays. In addition to the properties within the optical solution, the plasma version creates an anti-static barrier to help repel dust and lengthen the time between cleaning. www.internationalsupplies.com

Glock
Glock has debuted the 4th generation of pistols. Initially offered in the Model 22 (.40 S&W) and Model 17 (9mm) the new pistols offer several new features designed to satisfy the most demanding consumers. Most noticeably, the Gen4 design has a multiple backstrap system that allows the user to change the circumference of the grip to fit their individual hand size. The grip has three options; a short frame version, medium frame or large frame that are easily changed and secured with a single pin.

The magazine release catch of the Gen4 is reversible and enlarged. It allows users to switch access of the catch to the left or right side of the pistol with no additional parts. Internally, the original recoil spring has been replaced with a dual recoil spring assembly. The dual recoil spring assembly noticeably reduces the recoil while simultaneously increasing the life cycle of the pistol. Finally, the Gen4 pistols have a new Rough Textured Frame (RTF) surface designed to enhance grip traction and is present on the frame as well as the interchangeable backstraps. www.glock.com.

Century International Arms
Century International Arms, Inc. is debuting a 100% U.S. made AK semiautomatic rifle, the Centurion 39 Sporter chambered in 7.62x39mm. The Centurion 39 is assembled using all new U.S. manufactured parts. It is different from other rifles on the market in that the receiver is machined from an 11 pound block of 4140 ordnance quality steel. The barrel is equipped with a proprietary V shaped Chevron Compensator, designed exclusively by Century. This unparalleled compensator design directs gases upward, which reduces recoil and makes the rifle more controllable. Instead of adjusting for windage from the front sight like other similar rifles, the rear sight is adjustable for both windage and elevation. Other features include a high visibility front sight post and a buttstock that is 1 inch longer than military style stocks, for better comfort and handling.

The upper and lower handguard have four Picatinny rails that can be used to accessorize the Centurion 39 with red dot sights, scopes, lights, lasers and a foregrip. Barrel Length: 16.5 inches with a 1:10 twist. Overall length is 37.25 inches, weighs 8.2 pounds and comes with two U.S. made 30-round magazines. www.centuryarms.com.
