CloudLine™ System

Team Wendy® announced the immediate availability of the CloudLine™ System, a new drop-in helmet liner designed for exceptional comfort while upholding the safety standards operators have come to expect from the brand. The liner, named CloudLine™ for its unique comfort grade, features the softest Team Wendy-patented Zorbium® foam to date, used in strategically placed hexagon-shaped comfort pads designed to prevent hot spots while maintaining protection. CloudLine is designed to fit a broader range of helmets, including those used throughout Special Operations communities. CloudLine exceeds ACH blunt-impact requirements (AR/PD 10-02) and is compatible with nearly all standard ground-combat helmets, though some models may also require a CAM FIT™ Retention System retrofit in order for the CloudLine System to fit properly.

Extreme Duty Window Magazine

Mission First Tactical, LLC (MFT™) is proud to introduce the latest addition to the MFT magazine line, the Extreme Duty Window Magazine, designed for the AR-15/M4 but allowing use with a wide range of non-AR-15/M4 platforms. Utilizing new material technology and manufacturing processes for enhanced strength, durability and reliability, the Extreme Duty Window Magazine has durable dual-side, anti-glare transparent windows, numerical markers and high-visibility indicator coil on the spring allowing for quick visual identification of the approximate number of rounds remaining. Additionally, the Extreme Duty Window Magazines offer increased durability through a more efficient energy transfer between the polymer and the longer fiber filaments during an impact. The long-life USGI-Spec stainless steel spring is corrosion-resistant. The four-way, anti-tilt, self-lubricating follower keeps the rounds aligned and makes mag feeding consistent and reliable, while virtually eliminating jams. An oversized bolt-catch provides enhanced reliability of the bolt catch operation. The flared floor plate allows for an easier grip in handling, extraction, and one-hand reloads.

Maxim Defense unveiled its MDX and MD:15 line of firearms along with Maxim Defense Ammunition SBA (short barrel ammunition) at SHOT Show 2020. The MDX Weapon System was developed to fulfill the broad spectrum of needs by today’s military and law enforcement operations. The family consists of the PDX/MDX:505 (5.5-inch barrel), the MDX:508 (8.5-inch barrel) and the MDX:510 (10.3-inch barrel).

6.5 x 52mm Carcano

The 6.5x52mm Carcano cartridge has been around since 1891 and was only phased out of military service in the 1970s. Carcano rifles were strong actions, and most used gain-twist rifling to extend barrel life and improve accuracy. Heavy for the caliber projectiles, it retained useful energy levels despite the round nose form. The original lead core bullets had poor terminal performance, so later designs filled the bullet nose with less dense aluminum to promote tumbling on impact. Fortunately, an excellent target load is now available from Steinel Ammunition. The new cartridges use soft point expanding bullets that provide excellent terminal effect and accuracy while promoting reliable feeding. Loaded to 1,770 fps (from 17.5-inch barrels), this load offers a significantly lighter recoil than the original, while retaining good terminal performance at distances reasonable with iron sights. This ammunition is non-corrosive and made to much higher quality and more consistent specifications than either military surplus or other commercial loadings.

360° VFG QD Tripod

The 360° VFG QD Tripod is the next evolution in quick-detach accessories. The adjustment possibilities are almost infinite. The smooth 360-degree rotation and full-tilt function allow you to acquire targets quickly for an accurate shot every time.

The Quick Detach Tripod has a single hand-operated lock and unlock mechanism. There’s no button, no twisting—just a simple slide down to release and slide up to lock. It can be set to three different angles (20°, 50° and 78°). Just push, click and lock. It is constructed of aluminum, has extreme temperature resistance, and is sturdy, long-lasting and lightweight with a high quality finish. Patent pending.

IWI US LAUNCHES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED TAVOR® X95®

IWI US, Inc., a subsidiary of Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) Ltd., proudly debuts the compact, modern designed TAVOR® X95® bullpup. IWI US introduced the X95® select-fire bullpup to law enforcement customers last year and now our civilian customers can buy a commercial version. The X95® is a modern, modular bullpup design emulating all the familiar features of the TAVOR® but on steroids. The TAVOR® X95® platform incorporates a tri-rail forearm covered by three removable vented rail covers. The TAVOR® style trigger guard is modular and can easily be converted to a more traditional trigger guard with pistol grip. The charging handle has also been relocated closer to the shooter’s center mass, and perhaps the most significant departure from the TAVOR® is the ambidextrous magazine release, located to a more traditional AR-15/M16 location on the X95®. Like the TAVOR® SAR, the X95 will be available in a 16.5” 5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout and 17” 9mm Luger Parabellum. All models feature interchangeable cold hammer forged (CHF) barrels manufactured and engineered to IWI’s demanding specifications. Conversion kits in .300 Blackout, 5.56 NATO and 9mm will also be available. The TAVOR® X95® in 5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout uses standard AR-15/M16/STANAG magazines and is supplied with one black Magpul Gen III PMAG. It will be available in Black, Flat Dark Earth and OD Green. The price for the TAVOR® X95 is $1,999.00 and the Conversion Kits are $899.00 in 5.56 NATO and 9mm and $499.00 in .300 Blackout. For more information, please visit www.iwi.us.

SLIDEFIRE INTRODUCES THEIR TRUE BELT-FED SYSTEM

SlideFire®, long known for their fast-firing bump type AR and AK stocks, have now reintroduced their BFR (Belt Fed Rifle)-556A belt-fed AR-15 complete rifle. The Slide Fire® BFR-556A combines the simplicity and technology of the early belt-fed systems with modern manufacturing methods and materials. The modifications are minimal, allowing easy switch from the BFR to your magazine. It works with military and standard mil-spec links, creating a universal system for any AR-15. The new unit includes; a customized Colt 6920 5.56 rifle, belt fed module with 100 standard links, an all-weather tactical case with custom foam, 2-30 round polymer magazines, Magpul® BUS flip up rear sights and their own SSAR-15® MOD rapid fire stock. With this set-up you can achieve near full-auto rates of fire without any of the hassles of registering it as an NFA weapon. The self-contained design allows for easy removal of the belt fed mechanism for quick transition from belt to magazine. The Slide Fire® BFR is a true belt-fed system that allows your firearm to unload a virtually unlimited ammunition supply. For more information visit them at www.slidefire.com.

NEW FIX IT STICKS FOR FIREARMS

Fix It Sticks were originally introduced for cyclists who wanted quality tools that could be carried with them on the bikes. The company has now introduced their products into the world of firearms and these are tools that you just cannot be without. If you have ever tightened a scope ring screw just a little too tight and heard that sickening “snap” of the screw breaking you will definitely want a set of these high grade tools. The tools are available individually or as a complete set. The complete set includes sixteen replaceable bits in various sizes of Torx, Hex, Square and Screwdrivers bits, 2 double ended bit drivers that can be locked together to form a “T” handle, a ½ inch socket for tightening scope mounting nuts and 4 torque limiters. Torque limiters are basically very small torque wrenches. They are each specifically made for a set number of inch pounds for the shooters specific need. You can get them in 15, 25, 45 and 65 inch pound settings. They are also bringing out limiters in 70 and 80 inch pounds setting for installing and removing barrels such as in the Bren 805, SCAR and Desert guns in the future. All this comes in a zippered pouch with Velcro on one side and Molle clips on the other so that you can attach it to your gear and always have it with you. The bits are held in the driver handles by Neodymium magnets. The bits are all replaceable and come in sizes to fit and screw whether it is metric or SAE. For more information on these “must have” tools contact them at www.fixitsticks.com.

G2 RESEARCH ANNOUNCES NEW TRIDENT RIPOUT 7.62 X 39 AMMUNITION

G2 Research announces a specialized new 7.62×39 mm AK/SKS round for hunting and self-defense use. The G2 Research 7.62×39 Ripout Round is engineered to deliver serious penetration and produce a huge temporary and permanent wound even at the lower velocities inherent of this round (about 2,270 fps). G2’s 124-grain, CNC machined pure premium copper bullet expands (or, more accurately, opens up) into three large petals (tridents) of razor-edged copper making a corkscrew-cutting chunk of hot, sharp metal about the diameter of a quarter; big by any account. The design construction keeps the bullet intact, creating excellent penetration and a massive wound channel, resulting in quick and humane big game kills in this loading. It’s very efficient as a bush country hunting round and it is also suppressor-friendly. Whether it’s the humble SKS, the popular AK-47 or new model short-throw bolt-action rifles chambered in this popular caliber, if it’s low-recoil, accuracy and near-instant game killing performance one wants, the 7.62×39 Ripout Round is at the performance peak. More information can be found at www.G2ammo.com.

BROWNING EXPANDS THEIR FLASHLIGHT LINE WITH THE NEW HELLCAT

The Hellcat is the ultimate hunting or tactical flashlight featuring a super bright white, long distance beam. Brightness is 610 lumens with two CR123A Lithium batteries or 825 lumens with the optional 18650 Li-ion battery (not included). A trio of soft green LEDs offers stealth lighting.

The Hellcat features an aluminum body with a polycarbonate lens and internal battery magazine. The mode selector lets you pick the lighting desired mode without toggling. A single-action tailcap switch with momentary and continuous mode functions turns the light on and off. The light is waterproof and submersible to 3 feet for 30 minutes. Overall length is 5 ¾”. It is now available only in black. The suggested retail price is $109.99.
The UZI 9mm submachine gun is one of, if not the most iconic submachine guns ever built. Even people that don’t know guns seem to know what an UZI is. Its profile alone says submachine gun like no other. Probably the only gun more recognized just by looks alone is the Thompson submachine gun. The UZI was designed by Uziel Gal in the late 1940’s and went into production in the early 1950’s. It was shown to the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and they later adopted it in 1957. The UZI was designed as an open bolt gun with the bolt telescoping over the barrel to keep it compact. It is blow back operated with the sheer mass of the bolt used to overcome the bolt’s recoil force. The gun uses a stamped steel receiver with the magazine housed in the guns pistol grip at about the midpoint of the gun. This allowed the gun to easily be carried and fired one handed as well as the “hand finds hand” principle makes it quick to reload. The cyclic rate of the select fire full-sized guns runs in the 600 to 700 rounds per minute range. The gun was a hit with the IDF officers, tankers and Special Forces. It was available with either a fixed wooden stock or a stamped steel folding stock. The gun incorporates a grip safety along with a sliding safety/selector on the pistol grip’s left hand side.

The UZI has been used by IDF for decades and is still used to this day by Israel Defense Forces as well as troops and police in numerous other countries. The gun was made famous being used in the Six-Day War, the Yon Kippur War, the Vietnam war and others too numerous to mention. In the 1970’s and 1980’s there wasn’t an action movie made that didn’t feature the UZI. It was even used by the Secret Service to protect the President, as was shown in the famous photo of an agent pulling one out of a concealable briefcase when President Regan was shot by John Hinkley Jr.

At the rear of the pistol is a plastic cap that covers the stock mounting grooves that are made into the rear of the receiver. It can be removed by simply driving out two roll pins. IWI US offers a folding pistol stabilizing brace that fits these mounting grooves. They will also offer the pistol in a factory SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) version complete with the same stock that comes on the submachine gun version.

In later years the UZI underwent several design changes and other models were introduced. The first was the Mini UZI submachine gun that was designed to make for a smaller, more concealable version. It was considerably shorter as well as lighter, had a shorter barrel and a side-folding stock. The Mini UZI was produced in both closed-bolt and open-bolt select-fire models. Unfortunately, its smaller size gave the gun’s bolt a shorter travel distance as well as it was lighter, having less mass. These two things combined to give the Mini Uzi a cyclic rate of between 1700 to 1800 rounds per minute. This author owned one of each of these little bullet hoses and I actually have photos of people firing the gun with 32 rounds of empty brass suspended in the air. That’s 32 rounds of brass, out of the gun, before the first one hit the ground! The rate of fire was very impressive but not very practical. Even at that, the Mini UZI was popular with bodyguards and VIP protection groups. This was in the mid 1970’s and that was about the time that a company called Action Arms began importing semi-auto versions of both the full-size UZI as well as the Mini UZI. These guns were extremely popular with civilians as everyone wanted a gun like the ones used in the movies. The guns were semi-auto only carbines and had 16 inch barrels that stuck way out the front making them look rather odd. Action Arms saw this as well and began sending the guns out with a dummy display short barrel making them at least look like the “real thing” while displayed.

A few years later the UZI went through another design change version in the form of a new even smaller, lighter gun dubbed the Micro UZI. This model looked like a pistol version of the UZI but retained an abbreviated side-folding stock similar to the Mini UZI. This author fired one of these years ago and timed the rate of fire with a Pact timer. It fired an unbelievable 2200 rounds per minute. To go along with the select-fire Micro UZI there was a semi-auto only version with no stock introduced as the UZI Pistol. The pistol retained the stamped steel receiver design along with many other features of the original UZI.

The pistol features all the new improvements that were introduced on the submachine gun, such as side-mounted charging handle, ambidextrous thumb position magazine release, top-mounted Picatinny for optics and a small accessory rail for lights or lasers.

The UZI design changes then went pretty much stagnant until in 2010 when IWI (Israel Weapon Industries) introduced the UZI Pro which was an improved version of the Micro UZI. The UZI Pro submachine gun brought several new age design improvements. First and probably most noted is that the guns lower receiver is made from polymer instead of steel. The upper receiver is still made from stamped steel. The magazine release has also been moved to the standard traditional pistol based position on the grip where it can be released easily by the shooters thumb. It can also be changed from the right to the left hand side as per the shooters preference. The new submachine gun has three safeties instead of two as it now incorporates a firing pin blocker. The select-fire UZI Pro has a polymer right hand side folding stock with an adjustable height cheekpiece. Another prominent feature that has been implemented is that now the cocking handle has been moved to the left-hand side of the upper receiver and been replaced on the top cover by a length of Picatinny rail for the mounting of optics. The front of the polymer lower receiver also has a molded-in 5-slot Picatinny rail located just below the barrel for adding lights, lasers or other accessories. The select-fire UZI Pro also has a forward grip with side mounted Picatinny rails.

IWI (Israel Weapon Industries) US has now introduced the newest version of the UZI, the UZI Pro Pistol. The gun offers the size and features of the select-fire UZI Pro only in a semi-auto only pistol version. The new pistol naturally comes without a stock but is milled at the rear to accept the same stock as the select-fire version. This feature follows a theme that a lot of manufacturers are incorporating in their new shorter barreled guns; the ability to add a shoulder stock to make the gun an SBR (short barreled rifle). IWI US will also be offering a second model with a side-folding pistol brace that resembles the original factory made shoulder stock.

The sights on the new pistol are advertised as target sights but in reality are very coarse with a standard notched, windage adjustable, rear and an elevation adjustable post type front. Both the rear and the front offers white dots for quick alignment.

The new UZI Pro Pistol is blowback operated and fires from a closed bolt with a floating firing pin. It is fed by what looks like the same magazines that have fed UZI’s from the beginning but is slightly different. The magazines for the Pro series guns have two magazine catch notches stamped into them. One for the original UZI’s magazine release (which is located at the base of the grip on the left hand side) and one that locks into the new Pro series magazine release. These new magazines will work in the old UZI’s but the old magazines won’t lock into the new Pro series guns. The gun is shipped with one 20-round and one 25-round magazine. The new magazines are also available in 32-round capacities. The magazines are still the double stack, double feed type. The pistol also comes with a nice boxed kit that contains the cleaning tools, an oil bottle and sight adjustment tool. There is a very detailed, glossy operators manual that covers the operation as well as the disassembly of the gun.

Even though the pistol has a polymer lower it is fairly heavy, weighing in at slightly over 3.6 pounds. The gun has a 4.5 inch barrel that has a 1 in 10 inch right hand twist and is cold hammer forged. Like its predecessors, the barrel of the new pistol is removable via a barrel nut that unscrews allowing it to be removed out the front of the receiver. Just like the UZI Pro submachine gun the pistol features a side-mounted charging handle and a top cover mounted 5 inch length of Picatinny rail. The pistol’s sights consist of an elevation adjustable front and a windage adjustable rear. The front sight post features a white dot on all four sides of its post and the rear has two white dots making for an easy to see 3-dot configuration.

The barrel can be removed from the pistol by simply unscrewing the barrel nut and pulling the barrel out the front of the receiver.

The new pistol is designed to be one of the safest new firearms made, incorporating four safeties. The pistol has the selector and grip safeties that UZI’s have always had, but it also has a blocking latch which prevents the locking of a round into the chamber so no firing occurs if the breech block does not fully complete its backward movement, as well as a firing pin block that is only released when the trigger is pulled.

The gun can be taken apart quickly and easily without the need for tools. First remove the magazine and check to make sure the gun is unloaded. The rear sight base contains the top cover latch. You push this latch rearward and pivot the top over up and off of the pistol. Retract the bolt slightly and pull it up and out of the upper receiver. If need be you then can unscrew the barrel nut and pull the barrel out. This is basically as far as the gun needs to be disassembled for routine maintenance. If you have ever taken apart any UZI, the disassembly of the UZI Pro Pistol will seem natural as they all come apart the same way. The only difference is that to separate the upper and lower receivers on the new Pro series you need to remove two cross pins instead of one as on the older models. Like the original UZI the UZI Pro Pistol can be taken apart, cleaned and put back together in literally just a couple of minutes.

Shooting the new pistol proved that it is just as durable and reliable as all of its lineage. The test pistol fired all ammunition that was utilized from full metal jacket ball ammo to hollow point defense loads. Even the hottest +P+ 9mm loads ran perfectly through the gun. Accuracy was just what would be expected from a gun such as this. With a 4.5 inch barrel the gun could be as accurate as any other handgun as long as the shooter can master the trigger. The trigger pull is long, mushy and very heavy. With some practice it can shot well but don’t expect to shoot one hole groups with this type of gun. Off hand 10-shot groups fired with the open sights at 50 feet would cluster inside of 3 inches. The addition of a small red dot optic improved the gun’s accuracy dramatically. The UZI’s open sights are basically blocky and coarse, designed for a submachine gun not a competition pistol so being able to install an optic is one of the UZI Pro’s greatest new features. The small lower rail is also an added benefit as the shooter can now also add a laser or a light. With an on-all-the-time red dot such as the new Aimpoint Micro T2 and a light mounted on the pistol it would be a great home or vehicle defense gun. It is compact, ruggedly built and utterly reliable. Not to mention it is a lot of fun to shoot. When you buy one of these guns be sure and stock up on 9mm ammunition as you will go through vast quantities of it. If you take it to the range hide most of your ammunition as everybody that sees it will want to shoot it.

The new magazines also have the original magazine catch notch as shown here with the older UZI magazine shown on the right. The new magazines will fit the older guns but the older magazines will not lock into the new Pro series of guns.

ATN DEBUTS LATEST OTS THERMAL MONOCULAR LINE

ATN, innovators of advanced night vision, thermal imaging and digital Smart HD optics for hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, military and law enforcement, is pleased to introduce the OTS-X Series of Thermal Imaging cameras. Made in the USA, the OTS-X Series provides users with an adaptable and high quality thermal vision solution with 0.5x magnification. Designed to be versatile, compact, lightweight yet rugged, this thermal viewer can be easily carried in a cargo pocket for law enforcement and sportsmen alike. The OTS-X Series uniqueness lies within its customizable lenses. With most thermal vision devices, and even with most night vision devices, the lens and magnification level that the scope provides when purchased will be the lens and magnification that are permanently in the scope. This does not hold true for the OTS-X as it features interchangeable lenses. This means that if the user buys a close quarters scope, but later on decides that he or she needs a longer range device, the user would not have to buy a brand new thermal imaging camera, but rather just a new lens for the scope they already own. This customizability saves the user money and storage space. In addition, the OTS-X is designed to ergonomically fit in the user’s hand with an easy-to-use control system and an icon based menu to make adjustments and color mode changes simple. All OTS-X devices are available with an optional video out cord, which transforms the viewer into a hand-held camcorder for easy recording and output from the thermal camera.
BLACKHAWK! RELEASES ADVANCED SPEC OPS SHOTGUN STOCK

The all-new BLACKHAWK! Knoxx SPEC OPS Gen III Stock with Recoil Suppression Technology effectively reduces felt recoil by up to 80 percent, taking the original SPEC OPS Stock to an even higher level of effectiveness, performance and reliability. Using dual recoil-compensation systems, this rugged new synthetic stock improves shooter confidence, reduces muzzle flip, decreases cheek-slap and virtually eliminates harsh recoil. With improved ergonomics and six convenient adjustment positions, any-sized shooter can use the SPEC OPS Stock Gen III comfortably in any application and with any load. Even high-powered 3-inch loads are reduced by approximately 50 percent. Features include the two-stage patented recoil reduction system and an innovative new patent-pending recoil pad technology. The straight cheek weld of this improved version helps reduce cheek slap and keep shooters on their target. The six-position adjustable stock with 12.5-to-15.2 inches length-of-pull range has a buttstock tensioner to remove rattle. An ergonomic pistol grip is optimized for tactical shooting techniques, and multiple ambidextrous sling mounting locations provide increased adjustability.

CZ-USA INTRODUCES CARBINE VERSIONS OF THE SKORPION AND BREN PISTOLS

CZ-USA INTRODUCES CARBINE VERSIONS OF THE SKORPION AND BREN PISTOLS

Following the introduction last year of the Skorpion EVO pistol and the Bren 805 pistol, this year CZ-USA has introduced carbine versions of these two guns. Available in two variants, the Scorpion Carbine is a whole new animal. Building on the lauded submachine gun platform that first hit the US civilian market in pistol form in 2015, the Carbine has a 16.2” barrel fitted with either a compensating muzzle brake or a faux suppressor built specifically for CZ-USA by SilencerCo. Fit with the factory’s folding adjustable stock, the Carbine features a number of US-made parts to make it fully 922® compliant. One of the nicest features of the firearm is the newly-designed forend, covered in M-LOK attachment points to keep the profile slim while still being big enough to swallow most pistol-caliber suppressors should the owner decide down the road to convert it into an SBR for use with a suppressor. Low-profile aluminum adjustable sights round out the platform, and a top Picatinny rail allows the mounting of a wide number of optics. Simple and reliable, the Scorpion not only has ambidextrous controls, its non-reciprocating charging handle is swappable and reach to the trigger is adjustable.

Carrying on the Scorpion’s reputation as a reliable pistol-caliber plinker without breaking the bank, the Carbine starts at just $999. For those who would prefer to own a Bren in rifle form without having to jump through all the hoops of converting our pistol version into an SBR, the Bren is now available in carbine form with a 16.2” barrel. Equipped with the factory’s folding adjustable stock, it also has a new set of flip-up adjustable iron sights. Chambered in .223/5.56×45 and using the ubiquitous STANAG magazine from the AR15/M16, it easily accepts optics and lights on its top and bottom Picatinny rails. An effective two-port muzzle brake helps keep the Bren solidly on target and reduces recoil and muzzle flip. All of the new models will now be available in flat dark earth as well as black. Check them out at www.cz-usa.com.

NEW CQB PDW STOCK FROM MAXIM DEFENSE

NEW CQB PDW STOCK FROM MAXIM DEFENSE

Maxim Defense has just released a new super compact CQB PDW Stock that is one of the shortest available for the AR-15/ M-16 style of weapons. The new stock is made from 7075 aluminum alloy with 3/8 black nitride steel guide rods for strength and stability. One of the best features of this stock is that it uses a JP Rifles Compact Silent Capture Spring which is included with the stock. This spring and buffer system allows the host gun to use its original bolt carrier group so now the user doesn’t have to use a modified carrier. This allows the rifle that you are using it in to be disassembled in the normal “pivot open” way instead of having to remove both take down pins and then slide the upper and lower receivers apart. The stock has a textured butt-pad and weighs just a bit over 18 ounces. It offers 4 positions with the closed position measuring only 5.3 inches and the fully open position measuring only 10 inches. The stock also comes with set screws so it with always open to a preset position. It is very comfortable to shoot with and extended cheek piece and it will fit on any mil-spec AR lower receiver. The stock also has 2 QD sockets for sling mounting. For more information you can find them at www.maximdefense.com.

NEW SHOTGUN SUPPRESSOR FROM UTAS

NEW SHOTGUN SUPPRESSOR FROM UTAS

UTAS has just introduced their new Octave 12 shotgun silencer. The new silencer comes in at half the weight, a full 1 inch shorter and about 1/3 the cost of the only other 12 gauge suppressor on the market today. The new UTAS Octave is a carbon fiber wrapped 12 suppressor that can quiet a shotguns muzzle blast down to around 135 decibels. The new Octave suppressor muffles a shotguns blast by using a core of specially designed fibrous insulation made from volcanic rock that’s both heat and flame resistant. The fibre is spun much like cotton candy and then encased in steel mesh. This is then wrapped around a 4140 skeletonized steel muffler tube that is designed not to inhibit the shotgun shell’s wad. Expanding gas passes from the muffler tube through stainless steel baffling screens into two separate expansion chambers filled with the special noise dampening packing material. The Octave can be run either wet or dry. The new suppressor weighs in at just ounces and measures 11 inches long. The retail price of the Octave is $899. Adaptor chokes are available for $95 and cover Win Choke, Rem Choke and Beretta Choke patterns.
NEW HARTMAN MH1 REFLEX SIGHT

NEW HARTMAN MH1 REFLEX SIGHT

Hartman Ltd., a new innovative optics company, is proud to announce the ultimate red dot reflex sight: the MH1. Designed to meet the rigorous demands of worldwide armed forces, law enforcement and sportsman alike, the MH1 Reflex Sight is unlike any red dot reflex sight ever created. The MH1 breaks new ground in field of view, reticle design, quick reaction, user interface and battery efficiency. The patent pending advanced red dot sight offers the largest field of view through the sight, instantly improving target acquisition and situational awareness in day and night scenarios. The MH1 produces a near “0” parallax increasing accuracy. The unique reticle helps keep the firearm on a vertical plane using balancing lines at 3 and 9 o’clock with a centered red dot. The reticle also always stays on target independently of the operator’s eye location in the MH1 window. The MH1’s innovative design allows operators to attach additional magnifiers or night vision devices behind the sight. Once attached, the operator will not have any difficulty accessing the controls of the MH1 for both left and right-hand shooters.

For operators in the field, battery use and preservation is critical to mission success. The MH1 offers a different approach to battery consumption from other reflex sights. T he sight charges via a USB rechargeable battery plugged into any wall socket, computer or lighter. A single backup CR123 battery installed provides extended battery life. Additionally, the MH1’s sleep mode and dual 30 degree motion sensors only activate the sight when a shooting movement occurs, greatly enhancing battery life. The MH1 red dot reflex sight is built to MIL-STD-810F and designed to perform in the most challenging environments. A composite reinforced polymer housing protects the interior technologies and a forged aviation grade aluminum QD mount and base keep the MH1 operating under the most extreme conditions. The sight is pressure filled with nitrogen gas and fully sealed to prevent fogging or dust from entering the sight. The outer surfaces of the window have been specially coated to produce high clarity with no mirror like reflection from the objective side of the sight that would give away the user’s position, an extremely valuable benefit for law enforcement and military personnel. Options for the MH1 include a custom user interface that allows the user to reprogram some of the MH1’s features and customize the sight for various sleep mode activation time and reticle brightness levels, motion sensors and more. Another option is the ambidextrous infrared push-to-transmit (PTT) strap, making the MH1 the only remote-controlled reflex sight. The PTT activates the sight and controls reticle brightness levels (10 levels – 5 for day and 5 for night). It allows the user to control the sight without disengaging the supporting hand from the weapon, thus always remaining ready and reducing critical reaction time. The new Hartman MH1 Reflex Sight is available in black, tan or green with an RETAIL PRICE of $650.00. The optional remote control strap (PTT) has an RETAIL PRICE of $49.95. Contact them at

CMMG INTRODUCES NEW MK47 KRINK MODELS

CMMG INTRODUCES NEW MK47 KRINK MODELS

CMMG has unveiled the Mk47 line-up featuring a KRINK-style muzzle device. Similar to the original Mk47 MUTANT design, these new rifles are built around the 7.62x39mm caliber and feature a shortened AR-10 sized bolt carrier group that is paired with a unique upper and lower receiver to minimize weight and increase ergonomics. One of the primary benefits of the Mk47 design is its ability to accept existing AK magazines and drums. The new Mk47 models come equipped with the KRINK muzzle device. These new KRINK models include the Mk47 AKS8 AR Pistol, Mk47 AKS8 SBR (short-barreled rifle) and Mk47 AKS13 rifle. The KRINK-style muzzle-brake design was derived from an AK, which they modified to thread on standard AR threads. It serves as a booster, flash suppressor, blast reducer and also reduces recoil slightly.

NEW CIVIC DUTY SELF-DEFENSE AMMUNITION

NEW CIVIC DUTY SELF-DEFENSE AMMUNITION

G2 Research Inc., introduces its NEW Civic Duty round for serious self- defense. Designed to reliably and quickly expand to 2.5 times its caliber, this new round delivers incredible attack stopping energy, large wound area and excellent penetration. A “humble” 100-grain 9mm Civic Duty bullet will open up to 0.855 inches, creating a near-instant fight-stopping wound by effectively delivering all of its energy inside the target. The Civic Duty bullet is a solid copper, CNC-machined bullet that upon entering the target immediately begins expansion as a large hollow point. At initial contact, six large petals of the jacket peel back to create a fight-stopping wound. Unlike conventional hollow point bullets, which may not expand reliably due to clothing filling up the hollow point, the Civic Duty will indeed reliably open up because of its peeling petal design. The Civic Duty round is currently available in 9mm and a .45ACP round will be on the market in the near future. The Civic Duty round is designed to function exceptionally well at lower velocities (.45 ACP) and at higher velocities (such as the 9mm at 1,230+ fps). The lighter bullet weight greatly reduces felt recoil and muzzle flip, making for faster and more accurate follow up shots-if necessary. Priced at $41.99 for a box of 20, this is no low-cost plinking round. Then again, low-cost rounds are not made on CNC machines. The Civic Duty round is designed to stop a fight quickly and sometimes you must ask yourself: “Is my life worth two bucks a shot?” Find more information at www.G2Rammo.com.

FEDERAL ANNOUNCES AMERICAN EAGLE LINE OF SUPPRESSOR AMMUNITION

As suppressed firearms have gained popularity not only for deployment but for competition, hunting and range use in recent years, Federal Premium Ammunition has turned down the volume without sacrificing performance with its lineup of American Eagle® Suppressor ammunition. Specifically designed for use in suppressed firearms, these subsonic rounds (available in .22 LR, 9mm, .45 Auto and 300 AAC Blackout) are priced for volume shooting and they give users an even more accurate, economical and enjoyable round of competition or day at the range. Federal American Eagle Suppressor ammunition delivers superior accuracy, reliability and cleanliness in suppressed firearms, thanks to carefully selected propellants, bullet weights and profiles. The subsonic loading for the 9mm, 45 Auto, 300 Blackout and 22LR not only lend themselves to better noise reduction through the suppressor itself, they also reduce it by avoiding the ballistic crack inherent to supersonic loads. In addition, special clean-burning powders make it easy for shooters to clean their weapons—other conventional ammunition can cause severe fouling in suppressed firearms. Visit them at www.federalpremium.com.

ASHBURY PRECISION ORDNANCE ADDS .408 AND .375 CHEYTAC CALIBERS

Ashbury Precision Ordnance (APO) Manufacturing has added two new calibers to its line of premium Asymmetric Warrior® (ASW) precision tactical rifles based on the new SABER® VX bolt action receiver. The SABER VX is Ashbury’s octagonal geometry precision manufactured bolt action receiver for super magnum .408 and .375 CheyTac calibers. The ASW-408 uses the latest innovation in the patented SABER®-FORSST® modular rifle chassis system (MRCS), an interlocking action/chassis design precision machined from aerospace grade aluminum alloy that requires no bedding and very little maintenance. ASW precision tactical rifles are comfortable to shoot and are purpose built to deliver high levels of consistent, down range accuracy now in calibers from .223 to 408CT. They feature tool-less ergonomic adjustability, heat/mirage management, rugged advanced materials construction, engineered accuracy enhancing design, and offer shooters considerably lower felt recoil especially with the big .375 and .408CT cartridges. The core of Ashbury’s ASW-408 platform is the precision CNC machined SABER VX bolt action receiver. This newly engineered octagonal geometry receiver is crafted to smoothly feed the long, powerful super magnum cartridges from a 7rd detachable box magazine. The fire control mechanism on the ASW-408 rifle is a fully adjustable two-stage trigger, set to a crisp 3 lbs. The ASW-408 is a rugged precision rifle platform designed to produce optimum accuracy with 395gr to 420gr projectiles and the ASW-375 with 325gr to 375gr projectiles. ASW barrel chambers and threaded muzzles are 2precisely machined to a straightness of less than <0.0002 of an inch, true to the center line of the barrel bore and VX receiver. ASW super magnum rifles use the exceptionally efficient EliteIron muzzle brake/suppressor adapter to manage recoil and employ the optional WindTalker sound suppressor. Either rifle may be ordered with the option of the APO Arklight muzzle brake to substantially reduce felt recoil to approximately the level of a .308 Win rifle without a muzzle brake. They can be reached at www.ashburyprecisionordnance.com.

MASTERPIECE ARMS REVEALS NEW BOLT ACTION SIDE FOLDING CHASSIS

MasterPiece Arms (MPA), manufacturers of the MPA BA Rifles, Chassis Systems, Defender Pistols and Carbines, Suppressors and MPAR Rifles, proudly announces the availability of its new MPA BA SF Chassis – Side Folder, part of the MPA Bolt Action Chassis Systems product line. This unique chassis system provides a super precision platform for the Remington 700, Savage, Howa and a variety of custom actions. The MPA BA SF Chassis – Side Folder provides a world class chassis and v-bedding system that aids in increasing accuracy capabilities while adding tactical features to a rifle. It is the ideal platform to use for building a super precision rifle for long range competitions. The v-bedding system is configured to allow for the ability to glass bed the action and straight section of the barrel, if desired. The MPA BA SF Chassis – Side Folder is machined on MPA’s CNC Horizontal Machining Centers to exacting tolerances from 6061 aluminum. The MPA produced buttstock includes an adjustable length of pull, recoil pad with height and cant adjustment, adjustable cheek riser and adjustable Monopod. The Monopod locks into vertical position and has a quick-height locating method, extending up to 5” with fine adjustment capabilities. When not in use, the Monopod tucks into the frame of the buttstock. The Monopod will also work at 60 degrees for when a shooter needs that “in between” height of the buttstock of the rifle in acquiring the target. It is coated in durable ceramic (Cerakote) and is available in a variety of colors. The upper night vision bridge provides a seat for a Picatinny rail with a matching rail mounted to the bottom of the chassis. The MPA BA SF Chassis comes with an A2 Pistol Grip, machined thumb notch, a handstop/barrier stop system (standard) and a built-in bubble level. User located side rails are available as an additional option. It also comes with a unique pocketing system that reduces weight and increases the structural integrity of the chassis. The side folding assembly is released by depressing a small, low profile button and locks in place folded against the shooter’s left side of the chassis body. For left handed shooters, the assembly can be reversed to allow the stock to fold to the right, opposite the bolt handle. The MPA Rotation Barricade stop has proven itself to be a “game changer” when used to engage barricade type states in long range competitions, locking the rifle into position for rock solid positional performance.

FREEDOM ORDNANCE RELEASES NEW 9MM BELT-FED UPPER FOR ARS & M-16S

Freedom Ordnance is now releasing their new FM-9 9mm Belt-Fed AR-15/M-16 Upper Receiver. The new upper offers a quick change barrel system that is rigid and accurate with no tools required to change barrels. You can literally switch barrels in seconds! The new upper uses Freedom Ordnance’s own proprietary disintegrating 9mm links that are designed especially for the 9mm cartridge, not modified military links. The upper is blow-back operated. The complete unit is machined from billet aluminum and ordnance grade steel. It is heat treated and features QPQ nitride finish on all steel parts to give the system extreme durability. The upper will drop on to any mil-spec AR-15 or M-16 lower receiver. A mag block is dropped into the mag well from the top before putting the upper on, this provides an attachment point for the belt bag and houses the ejector. Without the mag block in place, the unit will not function. This is the only “modification” that is done and no tools are required so M-16 lower owners don’t have to modify their precious lowers. It comes standard with the 16.5” barrel and the 11 inch barrel can be ordered as an option. It uses a supplied 150 round belt bag and also comes with 150 links. Extra links can be ordered in bags of 500 or 1000. Watch future issues of SAR for a test and review of this new belt-fed! For more information or to see a video of the new unit go to www.freedomordnance.com.

U.S. MACHINE GUN ARMORY ANNOUNCES THE MGA SAW K

The U.S. Machine Gun Armory, an international provider of multi-caliber military belt-fed machine guns, often referred to as “Squad Automatic Weapons” (SAW), announced it is now in production of its newest model, the MGA SAW K™. The MGA SAW K™, is over 3 inches (80mm) shorter and 5 pounds (3 kg) lighter than a typical SAW, and represents an evolution of the company’s multi-caliber machine gun platform to now include a modular system that allows one base model machine gun to serve as a light CQB system with a short barrel (in all common calibers included a patent-pending 300 Blackout subsonic system), or be fitted with quick attach heavy and long barrels (as well as vehicle mounts if needed) and serve as the typical light and medium machine gun systems known the world over.

The Machine Gun Armory is known for its innovative MGA SAW™ weapons system that is essentially a fully re-engineered and modernized multi-caliber version of the US military issue 5.56mm machine guns. The MGA SAW™ is notable because its parts are fully compatible with the current U.S. military issue guns, yet the company offers many more calibers and configuration options from one base receiver.
NEW VICKERS ELITE PISTOL FROM WILSON COMBAT

Years of practical experience as an assaulter, pistolsmith, competitive shooter, industry consultant and trainer have formed the basis for the Vickers Elite, Larry Vickers’ signature Wilson Combat model 1911. The Vickers Elite combines many of the time-tested custom handgun features and adds some new modifications, as requested by Larry, to create a unique signature pistol with universal tactical appeal. The Vickers Elite starts with a precision-machined and hand-fitted forged slide and frame combination along with a match-grade barrel for impeccable reliability and precise accuracy. Renowned Wilson Combat hand-fitting to rigorous specifications yields a pistol that you can count on regardless of the shooting scenario at hand. A special .45 caliber Wilson Combat magazine was also developed for this model with extensive input from Vickers (based on his deployment experience). The Vickers Duty Magazine has a reinforced, solid tube for added strength, a newly engineered follower with sand cuts and a last round retention feature. The standard coil spring has been replaced with a stainless flatwire spring for the ultimate in long-term feeding reliability in extreme environments and hard use. An extended steel base pad has been added to make this magazine the new standard for tactical use.
HOGUE INTRODUCES TACTICAL THUMBHOLE STOCK FOR 10/22 RIFLES

Hogue, Inc., one of America’s premier manufacturers of firearm grips, rifle stocks, AR components, knives, holsters and gear has more good news for 10/22 owners: the company is now shipping one-piece, OverMolded® “Tactical Thumbhole” style rifle stocks. Featuring a futuristic thumbhole/pistol grip design, an integrated cheek weld, a unique bench stop and a soft rubber butt pad, Hogue’s new thumbhole rifle stock is optimized for quick and comfortable target acquisition with your preferred optic. This new design will have strong appeal to target shooters, varmint hunters and competition shooters alike. The design process for Hogue’s Tactical Thumbhole stock leveraged the company’s considerable experience in competition shooting. From butt pad to forend, the emphasis on ergonomics and function is obvious: the forend is wider and more curvaceous than the company’s “sporter” style rifle stock for more stability when used without a bipod; the pistol grip enables a natural, secure, comfortable grip angle; the cheek weld enhances fast target acquisition through a rifle scope and the bench rest hook opens up different shouldering options depending on the shooting situation. Designed primarily for heavy-barreled (.920-inch diameter) 10/22 rifles, the new stock will also accommodate standard contour barrels. The Tactical Thumbhole rifle stocks are available in Black (MSRP USD $109.95) OD Green, Flat Dark Earth, Ghillie Green, Ghillie Earth or Purple (MSRP USD $129.95 for colors). Like all of Hogue’s rifle stocks, the new Tactical Thumbhole model is constructed using the company’s popular OverMolded® rubber – a durable, comfortable, recoil-taming material that’s impervious to dirt, grime and moisture. Hogue’s Tactical Thumbhole 10/22 stocks are also available for two-piece takedown style 10/22 rifles in both standard and .920-inch diameter barrels.
VELOCITY TRIGGERS LAUNCHES WITH DROP-IN AR TRIGGER

Velocity Triggers™ has launched its brand with an American-made, drop-in trigger assembly that will fit all AR platforms. The initial product offering includes single stage trigger assemblies with either a traditional curved trigger or a tactical straight trigger, both of which are available in 3, 4, or 4 ½ pound pull weight. All of the major parts of the trigger assembly go through extensive processes to insure a great final product. The hammer, trigger and disconnect are cut from tool steel with a Wire EDM process, followed by heat treating for extended life. Then the hammer and disconnect are treated with Robar’s® NP3® metal finish. NP3® is an electroless nickel-based finish that reduces friction and is very corrosion resistant. The housings are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and then green anodized for easy cleaning and reduced corrosion. Each trigger goes through a black oxide process and then is hand polished for a smooth finish. The trigger assemblies are then built and individually tested for pull weight and sear engagement. The new triggers retail price is just USD $150.00.
RUGER INTRODUCES NEW PRECISION RIFLE

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc., is excited to announce the introduction of the Ruger Precision Rifle™. An all-new, in-line recoil path, bolt-action rifle, the Ruger Precision Rifle is highly configurable and offers outstanding accuracy and long-range capability. In production now, the Ruger Precision Rifle is available in .308 Win., 6.5 Creedmoor, and .243 Win. The Ruger Precision Rifle incorporates an in-line recoil path directly from the rear of the receiver to the buttstock, eliminating the need for traditional bedding or a “chassis” system, and provides maximum accuracy potential by simplifying the rifle’s response to recoil. The Ruger® Precision MSR stock is adjustable for length of pull and comb height, offering a proper fit over a wide range of shooter sizes, outerwear, and shooting positions. The stock also features multiple QD sling attachment points, a bottom Picatinny rail for monopod attachment, and a soft rubber butt pad. The left-folding stock hinge (which provides access to the bolt) is attached to an AR-style buffer tube and accepts AR-style stocks. The Ruger Precision Rifle features a Multi-Magazine Interface, a patent-pending system that functions interchangeably with side-latching M110/SR25/DPMS/Magpul® magazines and front-latching AI-style magazines. Two 10-round Magpul PMAG® magazines are shipped with each rifle. The medium contour (.75” at the muzzle) barrel features a thread protector over the 5/8”-24 threads, which allow for the fitment of muzzle accessories such as sound suppressors. Barrels can be replaced easily by a competent gunsmith using AR-style wrenches and headspace gauges. An oversized bolt handle is fitted for positive bolt manipulation. The “lower” receiver is precision CNC-machined from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum forging and is Type III hard-coat anodized for maximum durability. The magazine well front is contoured for a positive grip for bracing against shooting supports. The rifle also sports a 20-MOA Picatinny rail secured with four, #8-40 screws for increased long-range elevation capabilities. The Ruger Precision Rifle can easily be configured with AR-style grips, safety selectors and handguards. The rifle is equipped with a Ruger extended trigger-reach AR-style grip, a left-side, 45-degree safety selector, and a Samson Evolution Keymod handguard. A short section of Picatinny rail is provided with the rifle for the fitment of accessories, such as a bipod, and a QD sling cup is also included. The Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger provides a crisp let-off and is externally adjustable with a pull weight range of 2.25 to 5.0 pounds. The hex wrench for the pull weight adjustment provided with the rifle is stored in the bolt shroud, as is a bolt disassembly tool for accessing the striker and striker channel.
STEYR’S SSG CARBON NOW AVAILABLE IN THE U.S.

Steyr Arms has announced that its newest SSG rifle (wearing an advanced carbon fiber stock) has landed in America. Initially introduced at the 2014 SHOT Show, the exceptionally accurate, innovative and moderately-priced SSG Carbon rifle was met with an unprecedented number of orders from the law enforcement community that took 16 months to fill, but the latest shipment of rifles now makes the SSG Carbon available throughout the U.S. Unlike conventional carbon fiber stocks made from woven carbon fabric that often suffer from side-strike structural failures, the SSG Carbon’s stock is made using the same “chipped-carbon” Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) construction used to create load-bearing structures in Formula 1 race cars and high-performance aircraft. The SSG Carbon’s chipped-carbon flakes combine thermally with the binding agent to form the SMC for a distinctive appearance to the stock, but like the spirals on the rifle’s cold-hammer-forged barrel, they aren’t just there for looks. The carbon chips interlock with each other to create an unparalleled tension net that is superior to steel in every direction, yet weighing only a fraction compared to steel or aluminum. Due to the unique recoil absorption properties of its SMC technology, the SSG Carbon is surprisingly lightweight, and its recoil absorption is unmatched. Utilizing the same barreled action and muzzle brake as the famed SSG 08, the SSG Carbon is based on Steyr’s Safe Bolt System (SBS) action, and it utilizes its direct trigger, legendary for its crisp, clean and repeatable break. A detachable box magazine functions either as a constant-feed magazine or it can be placed in a second position that acts as a magazine cutoff to single-feed the rifle over the top of a loaded magazine. The stock of the SSG Carbon has multiple mounting points for sling attachments. It also features an adjustable cheek piece, an adjustable butt plate, rubber-wrapped pistol grip, a heavy bipod and an integrated finely adjustable rear-elevation pod. The cold-hammer-forged barrel measures 20 inches and features a twist rate of 1:10. The suggested retail price is USD $3,695.
SIG Sauer Unveils the SIG MCX

SIG Sauer SIG MCX

SIG Sauer, Inc. continues to set new standards in firearm design, innovation, and performance with the introduction of the SIG MCX. Designed from the ground up as a short-barreled, silenced, lightweight rifle-caliber system, the SIG MCX has reset the standard for modularity, sound suppression, and mission capability. With the introduction of the SIG MPX submachine gun, SIG Sauer raised the bar for performance and modularity in a pistol-caliber platform. The SIG MCX combines that modularity with rifle-caliber power in a compact package, designed for optimum performance with a silencer. Unlike every other firearm on the market, the SIG MCX was designed from the start for optimum performance with the .300 Blackout cartridge and a silencer. When paired with a SIG Sauer silencer, the outcome is a firearm with superior suppression capability and enhanced reliability with both supersonic and subsonic loads. An auto-regulating gas system makes the transition from subsonic to supersonic seamless. In combat situations, the SIG MCX can run supersonic on the silenced setting without damaging the firearm or negatively impacting reliability. Sharing a modular design with the SIG MPX, the SIG MCX is a mission-adaptable firearm. Changing between .300 Blackout and 5.56 NATO is as simple as swapping barrels and op rods. Converting to 7.62x39mm simply requires an additional bolt face change. All of this can be performed by the user in the field. Barrel lengths can also be changed, with 16-inch and 9-inch versions initially available. The SIG MCX features a recoil assembly that does not require a buffer tube, allowing for side folding stocks. A full-length Picatinny top rail allows for the mounting of lights or optics. Removable SIG Sauer iron sights come standard. The SIG MCX upper is compatible with Mil-Spec AR-15 lowers and, with the use of a SIG MCX Stock Kit, allow consumers to fully upgrade their own system. Three variants of the SIG MCX will be available to the commercial market; semiautomatic rifle, short-barrel rifle (SBR) and pistol configurations. All will be available in .300 Blackout, 5.56 NATO or 7.62x39mm, with caliber conversions available immediately. All SIG MCX models will feature aluminum KeyMod handguards, ambidextrous AR-style controls, an ambidextrous charging handle, and will utilize standard STANAG magazines.
Steiner Introduces “Intelligent” Combat Sight (ICS)

Steiner’s new “Intelligent” Combat Sight (ICS) integrates a laser rangefinder and a ballistic calculator into a rugged and compact tactical weapons sight. The ICS, a true electro-optical aiming device, provides trajectory compensation by automatically calculating the point of aim based on ammunition ballistics, measured distance and angle to the target out to 800 meters. The precision of the 6x40mm ICS greatly increases accuracy and first round hit probability for improved battlefield effectiveness for infantry soldiers and tactical operators using small caliber weapons. Just feed the ICS your cartridge’s ballistic info and the scope’s computer and inclinometer instantly calculate perfect hold-over at your exact distance and gives you a bright red dot in seconds – all at the push of a button. Despite its sophisticated technology, the ICS is a ruggedized, simple to operate combat optic that requires minimal training. While the magnification is optimized for the 7.62x51mm Battle Rifle, the ICS’s internal ballistic calculator is easily configurable for specific 5.56mm, .300 Blackout and .300 WinMag cartridges. The 6x40mm ICS is fully adjustable for windage and 120 MOA of elevation, and the illuminated reticle adjusts from dim to bright for daylight conditions. A Picatinny base on top of the ICS allows for the addition of a CQB sight, and a back-up iron sight on the right side provides an auxiliary sighting option. The sight is powered by one CR123A battery and the Class I Eye Safe laser and is waterproof up to 10 m.
Faxon Firearms Adds New 7.62x39 Kit to ARAK-21 Platform

Faxon Firearms Adds New 7.62×39 Kit to ARAK-21 Platform

Faxon Firearms, manufacturer of the innovative ARAK platform, is proud to announce the addition of the 7.62×39 Russian caliber to its offerings for the ARAK-21. This addition will allow the user the added advantage of a larger caliber round and less expensive ammunition for more range time. This system makes the ARAK-21 platform one of the most versatile platforms on the market, allowing the user to have the potential to have three rifles in one (5.56, .300blk and now 7.62×39). The 7.62×39 caliber will be available for order in standard ARAK-21 upper receivers, complete XRS rifles, and as a stand-alone kit for existing ARAK-21s. Kits will be available in 12.5-inch and 16-inch medium profile barrels. Current ARAK-21 users/owners can simply purchase the 7.62×39 kit as an addition to their current rifle upper. The 7.62×39 caliber kit comes with an interchangeable bolt, firing pin and barrel, all designed to work interchangeably with the current ARAK-21 upper receivers and XRS rifles. Rather than modify existing components, Faxon took detailed time and testing to create a robust set of solutions that solve many of the issues of the cartridge that plague other conversions. They lowered and widened the feed ramps to ensure consistent chambering, increased the bolt diameter to handle bolt thrust, and supply a new firing pin that matches the depth and width of the venerable AK to ensure consistent ignition. They set out to design a platform based rifle that takes the best of the AR and the best of the AK and combine them into one rifle with cross caliber capabilities. With the addition of the 7.62×39, they are expanding the capabilities for each user of the ARAK-21. This option further expands his or her platform and opens up many new shooting options. The ARAK-21 7.62×39 Kit has a retail price $499. Retail price for single barrel upper receivers is $1,199 and multiple caliber kits that include 7.62×39 will add $99 for the bolt and firing pin. 7.62×39 equipped ARAKs and kits will start shipping late February.

Mossberg Releases MVP Light Chassis and Blaze 47 Rimfire

What could possibly improve the accuracy and handling qualities of Mossberg’s groundbreaking MVP Series of bolt-action rifles? Why not add a lightweight, aluminum MDT chassis; Magpul Mil-Spec CTR adjustable stock and MOE pistol grip; SilencerCo Saker muzzle brake, and adjustable bipod? O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc. is pleased to announce the MVP-LC bolt-action target rifle in 5.56mm NATO (.223 Rem.) and 7.62mm NATO (.308 Win.); both available in optional Vortex-scoped combos. These AR-compatible bolt-actions utilize patented design features that accept and feed from AR-style magazines (AR-15-style for 5.56mm NATO and both M1A/M14 and AR-10-style for 7.62mm NATO models). Housed in an aluminum, tan-finished, light chassis stock
designed by MDT that provides a modular, ergonomic base, this MVP is engineered for accuracy with its V-shaped bedding and recoil lug area that only makes contact with the receiver at those points. The free-floating, medium bull barrel is threaded and comes with a SilencerCo Saker muzzle brake, utilizing the Trifecta quick-detach mounting system (thread cap included). The barrels, constructed of carbon steel, are button-rifled with 16.25-inch length and 1:7 twist rate in the 5.56mm NATO (.223 Rem.) chambering and the 7.62mm NATO (.308 Win.) sports an 18.5-inch barrel with a 1:10 twist rate. Both feature a matte blue finish on all metalwork. Enhancing the accuracy on this tack-driver is Mossberg’s Lightning Bolt Action (LBA) Trigger System that delivers a crisp, creep-free trigger pull and is user-adjustable from 3 to 7 pounds. Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and hard-coat anodized to military spec, preventing corrosion and minimizing wear, the LBA trigger system delivers the utmost in reliability and durability for consistent shot placement. Additional design features include: spiral fluted bolt; oversized tactical-style bolt handle; Picatinny top rail for ease of adding optics; and adjustable bipod. MVP-LC rifles come standard with Magpul P-Mag 10-round magazines and with the patented designs of the MVP, you can use aftermarket AR-15 (5.56mm NATO/.223 Rem.) and both M1A/M14 and AR-10-style (7.62mm NATO/.308 Win.) aftermarket magazines. Both calibers are available in MVP-LC Scoped Combos, which include Vortex Optics Viper HS-T (Hunter Shooter Tactical) 4-16x44mm variable riflescope and rings. Mossberg has also introduced a newly-engineered line of lightweight and easy-handling Blaze autoloading rimfire rifles for 2015, and joining the family is the Blaze 47, replicating the look and feel of the widely-popular AK-47 rifle. These fun-to-shoot .22 LR autoloaders feature a polymer receiver and are available with fixed-length wood stocks or adjustable black synthetic stocks, featuring Mossberg’s innovative FLEX TLS (Tool-less Locking System) interchangeable recoil pad system. Both wood-stocked and synthetic versions are available with optional 10- or 25-round magazines. Experience the fun of shooting a classic military-style rifle platform in this affordable, American-made rimfire rifle series. The Blaze rimfire rifle design utilizes the durability and lightweight characteristics of today’s highly-engineered polymers. The molded polymer receiver and action are paired with compact 16.5-inch free-floating, blue-finished barrels with 1:16 twist rate. The metal bolt, firing pin and bolt handle feature complementing blue finish and the Blaze 47 also features an ambidextrous safety. The spring-loading, 10- and 25-round magazines are easy-to-load and are also sold as Mossberg-branded accessories. The Blaze 47 captures the look of the venerable AK-47 with the following standard features: adjustable fiber optic rear sight and raised front rifle sights; choice of fixed wood stocks with 13 1/2-inch length-of-pull (LOP) or lever-activated, 6-position adjustable LOP synthetic stock (11 1/4 – 14 inches) providing greater comfort for all shooters; and optional 10- or 25-round capacity magazines. Mossberg has also incorporated its user-friendly FLEX TLS System on the synthetic-stocked versions of the Blaze 47: with the simple push of the integrated TLS latch, the recoil pad can be easily interchanged for other sizes of FLEX recoil pads; no tools required.
Newest SureFire Scout Light Provides Power-Source Versatility

Newest SureFire Scout Light Provides Power-Source Versatility

SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products, has commenced sales of the latest, highly versatile member of its best-selling, ever-expanding family of LED Scout Light Weapon Lights. The new M600 AA Scout Light-for long guns equipped with Mil-Std 1913 (Picatinny) rails-can be powered by AA lithium or AA alkaline batteries, the latter of which are typically more readily available globally particularly in remote or rural areas. Powered by two lithium AAs, the M600 AA’s solid-state light emitting diode (LED) generates a maximum output of 200 lumens and produces tactical-level output for up to 3.75 hours on a set of batteries. The output and runtime from two AA alkaline batteries is approximately one-third that from lithium AAs, but this reduced output/runtime is theoretically outweighed by the convenience of using these easier-to-find and often less-expensive power cells. But to maximize output and runtime, SureFire recommends powering the M600 AA with lithium batteries whenever possible. The M600 AA uses a proprietary Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens to shape the LED’s output into a smooth, flawless beam with ample reach and enough surround light to maintain good situational awareness in close to medium-range applications. Like all SureFire Scout Lights, it securely attaches to any Mil-Std 1913 rail, the M600 AA utilizing an integral thumbscrew clamp that attaches/detaches the light to said rail in a matter of seconds. Constructed of lightweight aerospace aluminum that’s hard anodized with a Mil-Spec finish for added durability, this new Scout Light can be easily activated via its momentary-/constant-on click-type tailcap switch, or via several remote plug-in switch models available for purchase from SureFire as optional accessories. The M600 AA Scout Light has an MSRP of $299. More information can be found by visiting www.surefire.com online.

Ross & Zheng Engineering Unveils New Multi-Caliber UNIMAG AR Magazine

Ross & Zheng Engineering (RZE) has announced that it has a new multi-caliber magazine to fit the AR 5.56 platform guns. The UNIMAG multi-caliber magazine, RZE’s first production-ready firearm component, provides enhanced performance and reliability for gun owners and enthusiasts. Compatible with AR-15 and other rifles that use a STANAG magazine, the UNIMAG is proven to be reliable and functional for six different types of ammunition and counting. The patented design includes a two-piece, self-levering follower that maintains its stability while also accommodating tilt introduced by the ammo, and a self-adjusting magazine shell to regulate various cartridge diameters. This is the first magazine that can handle the .223, 6.5, 6.8 and the two AK calibers, the 7.62×39 and 5.45×39, reliably. It also offers manufacturers a tremendous opportunity to expand their AR-15 product families, particularly in 7.62×39 uppers and lowers.
New Seek Thermal Camera Makes It Easy to Focus In On Your Target

Seek Thermal has just announced the Seek XR, an extended range version of its award-winning thermal camera. Created with outdoor enthusiasts in mind, the Seek XR allows people to literally see heat, making it possible to spot people and animals in total darkness. For hunters, the Seek XR can be used in daylight, the dark, or in obscured visibility conditions. It’s useful for scouting, bloodtrailing, hunting game, and much more. The new Seek XR has a manual focus lens for viewing objects at close range, or at distances of up to 2,000 feet. Until recently, the price of thermal imaging has kept it out of reach for almost everybody except military and law enforcement. The Seek XR will be available in January for both iOS and Android devices for $299 at www.thermal.com Thermal imaging converts heat energy into an image that can be seen with the human eye. Traditionally, thermal cameras costing several thousand dollars and up have been used by firefighters, law enforcement and the military to see through smoke or in complete darkness. Seek Thermal has pioneered the next generation of thermal imaging technology sized and priced for the everyday consumer. The Seek camera is a small device that plugs into the micro USB connector on Android devices and the Lightning™ connector on iOS devices. A durable magnesium housing protects a next-generation thermal sensor and custom chalcogenide lens. It weighs only 0.5 ounces and creates true thermal images with a resolution of 206×156, or over 32,000 thermal pixels. Prior to today this kind of resolution was only available in cameras costing several thousand dollars and up. The Seek camera works with a free app that is available in the Apple App store and on Google Play. The app makes it easy for people to get started with thermal imaging, while also including a range of controls substantial enough for people who use the camera for serious work or serious fun. App features include; capture and share thermal photos and videos, select from different temperature measurement modes including the ability to automatically highlight everything in the scene that is above or below a specified temperature and select from nine different color palettes. Technically called “LUTs,” there are different color ranges that can be applied to temperature measurements. You can also swipe seamlessly back and forth between a regular and a thermal image in Thermal+ mode.
Combined Systems is excited to announce the expansion of its VENOM Non-Lethal Tube Launched Munitions System product line. In 2014 CSI made the push for enhanced capabilities by engineering and releasing two new launching systems.

The patent pending VENOM MC is a high capacity multi-caliber non-lethal launching system that features multi caliber capabilities. Users can now launch 37mm, 40mm, and 66mm non-lethal munitions from one launching system with ease. By simply switching the launching cassette, the remote-operated system delivers a variety of calibers and payloads from the same launching platform.

The VENOM V-TAC is a tactical version of the traditional VENOM launching system. With just one bank of ten 37mm munitions, this compact launcher can easily be mounted onto vehicles that are limited in terms of mounting space: such as ATV’s and pick-up truck hitches.

These two launchers join the family of elite non-lethal munitions systems that began with the original VENOM, a USMC fielded system that features 30 barrels of 37mm munitions. Whether your mission is military, tactical, or peacekeeping, finding the non-lethal system that fits your mission has never been easier. To see these launchers in action, check out the videos on YouTube at CTSLessLethal, or visit us at SHOT Show 2015 in booth #20119. For more information visit www.combinedsystems.com
